We have returned with a powerful upgrade to our ELYSION virtual instrument. The goal of ELYSION’s first edition was to capture the mystery of the cosmos with more ambient and enigmatic sounds. With ELYSION 2 – The Encounter, we focus on the aggressive and extreme sound palette that lies beyond Earth’s atmosphere.
Included are the meditative tones of the first edition, but added are tons of high-quality epic spheres, powerful pulses, and tension-shattering FX.
“We wanted to bring ELYSION 2 closer to the well-known ‘Epic Trailer’ character,” explains lead project developer Nico Dilz. Adding new modules for saturation and distortion and 65 new instruments, we built upon the already stellar package of the first ELYSION. “[We added] new themes to utilize our engine in more extreme ways. Especially the stutter engine… It took a bit of experimentation regarding what works and what doesn’t, but in the end the new sounds are the real key to achieving more aggression.”
BUILT UPON A SOLID CORE
Users new to the ELYSION series might note how the basic design is similar to our THE ORCHESTRA series. The idea of layering and interchanging pulses was carried over to ELYSION. Where THE ORCHESTRA focuses on the traditional sounds of a symphony though, ELYSION focuses on everything but traditional. It’s a collection of diverse designed sounds created from acoustic and synthetic sound sources. ELYSION 2 includes both everything in the original and the new content.
